Stamp Review Crew - Truly Tailored

Welcome back to another Stamp Review Crew blog hop. The Stamp Review Crew is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world that get together on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month for a blog hop. Each hop we showcase one stamp set and show you just how much you can do with it. Get ready for lots of inspiration and lots of reasons to use (or buy😊) this stamp set! Currently you are visiting Lou Kitzelman on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Hi!

For this hop we are featuring Truly Tailored.

This is such a great stamp set that is perfect for (but not limited to) masculine cards. It is one that I know I will be using for a long time. Unfortunately it is retiring so make sure you get in quick to nab a set before they sell out.

I thought I would team the stamped images with the Silver Embossing Paste but wasn't sure which background would work best. So I did one of each - then couldn't decide which I liked better so went with both! How great does that silver embossing paste look?

I'm on a mission to use up some retiring products before I fall in love with all of my new goodies. So I have used some Dapper Denim cardstock and ribbon, Night of Navy corduroy ribbon and Crushed Curry thick baker's twine.

Originally I made this without the Crushed Curry elements but it was as bit meh! So I prized it apart and whacked the Crushed Curry bits in to lighten it all a bit. Well worth the card surgery!

I quite like how the silver looks on the Smokey Slate base. Subtle, shiny and ..... special?

Masculine cards can have ribbon too! Layouts like this are perfect for using up those offcuts you can't bring yourself to throw away but end up in one big pile on your craft desk - or is that just me???

The Tailored Tag punch coordinates with this stamp set. Good news - it is not retiring!

I also used some of the other sentiments and little graphic stamps inside each card but they were really hard to photograph - close your eyes and imagine them!

Make sure you hop around to see what all the crew have done with this fab stamp set. Next up is Mickey. Can't wait to see her fabulous projects.

ESAD 2018 Retirement List Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to another ESAD (Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators) blog hop. We are giving some much loved retiring Stampin' Up! products a last hoorah! Whether you are starting with me or have hopped over from Jessie's blog - you'll find lots of reasons to snap up some retiring goodies.

Before I get stuck into using new products from the 2018/19 Annual Catalogue due for release on June 1, I wanted to use up some Designer Series Paper, ribbon and embellishments - rather than hoarding them!. So I designed a class to help me out with that. I've just made some simple gate fold cards where the DSP does all of the work for me. Then I added in retiring stamp sets, ribbons and embellishments to finish them off.

My first pair are just made using a simple gate fold. The sentiment panels are only adhered to one side of the card front.

Birthday Wit (retiring sob sob!) has fun sentiments like this one that are fairly large and perfect for this type of fold. It helps enhance the lovely details on the Delightful Daisy DSP.

Then you can step it up a notch and fold back the edges of the DSP to take advantage of the double-sidedness. I have simply scored and folded the edges back to create a band. I stuck each folded edge down to give depth.... and well it looked better. The Sweet Soiree DSP is perfect for this. One side has a detailed pattern and the other is more muted.

Teamed with the Big on Birthday stamp set and Petal Passion embellishments, it makes for quick and easy cards.

The card inside has some simple decoration using other elements from each stamp set.

Then why not take it up a further notch? You can also fold back each edge a different amount to vary the band size. I made these using the Bundle of Love DSP. They are not my normal style - a bit too tizzy - so I am not in love with them but they were made for an older lady who will love them. Here I've given several retiring products one last hoorah - Flower Shop and Celebration Time stamp sets, pansy punch, Celebration thinlits, Tassels, Glitter dots, Hearts and Stars wooden elements, doilies and some gold ribbon.

I have all of the instructions and measurements for cutting and scoring in a PDF if you would like to make these yourself. Click here to download it.

Next up is my superstar friend Kelly Kent. You'll love her clever card using lots of retiring goodies!
