Taco 'bout awsome - International blog highlight

Thanks for coming to my blog today! We are being highlighted internationally by Kylie Bertucci and you are able to VOTE for my project. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop so please vote for my project. You can do that here. Our theme for this highlight is encouragement - we all need a kind word said to us to build us up at times. Everyone needs to be told how awesome they are every so often.

When I saw this cute stamp set called Tasty Trucks I thought it would be perfect for this blog highlight. I have made this card with all of my loyal followers in mind. Let's taco 'bout how awesome you are! I really appreciate every one of you. Every time someone subscribes, clicks on a post and takes the time to comment means so much to me. I know that everyone is busy so I really appreciate people taking the time to read my posts and leave comments. It encourages me to keep creating and blogging. For all of you I am truly grateful.

This is a fun fold called a twisted easel card. It starts off flat...........

.......then props open for display. You make it in a similar way to a standard easel card except you fold the front panel diagonally. When you adhere the elements to the front, you just have to make sure that you only stick them to the bottom section.

I've used some new products on this card from the new Occasions Catalogue that you will be able to order from on January 4th. The new watercolour pencils that I have used to colour the van are fabulous and you will definitely 'need' to get some. And as an added bonus you can get this stamp set for free from January 4 if you spend over $90. Just like a belated Christmas present!

Thanks for visiting my blog today. I'd love it if you headed over to Kylie's blog to vote for my project. I would love to be chosen to do another international blog hop. Thanks again to you all for taking the time to read this post. You make it worth while and you are awesome!

PS Thank you to everyone who voted for me. I was lucky enough to be chosen in the top 10.

Noel Niceties - Pop it in a gift box!

Even though I often have to do it in a rush (why do I add so many things to my 'to do' list each year?) I always find time to make tags and gift boxes or bags for all of my Christmas gifts. I always want them to look great but be quick. These little boxes made using my envelope punch board contain my Christmas 'card' for my family this year.

A while ago I showed you my 3D shaker tin ornaments. They have a panel on the back so they are a card and ornament all in one and look a bit fancier in these cute boxes.

When I get a bit overwhelmed with my 'to do' lists I always go into full avoidance mode for a while. So even though I am a bit pushed for time I thought I would check out the challenge over at Just Add Ink this week to see if my projects would fit the bill. Thanks to the JAI crew I was able to avoid my jobs for quite a while but eventually came up with a way to make them fit......Noel Niceties made with an N-velope punch board........a bit of a stretch but a girl needs to be Naughty sometimes and hide in her craft room!

These boxes are so easy to make. I used a piece of paper from the Warmth & Cheer DSP stack (6 x 6") and scored at 5.4 and 9.7 cm on each side. The Crafty Owl has a fabulous online calculator for making boxes using the Envelope Punch Board. You just pop in the dimensions of the box you need and it comes up with the paper size and score and punch positions. I just fiddled with the measurements so that I didn't have to cut the paper down.

A belly band and some ribbon add a bit of extra decoration.

Tags from the Merriest Wishes bundle finish off the box.

No excuse now I to work I go. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas. I hope it is filled with much love and laughter.

Quick gift card holder....

Now at the risk of sounding like the slackest aunt ever.....I have bought gift cards for my nephew and niece for Christmas. I am assured that they really want these but I do feel a bit slack. So to make myself feel a bit less slack I have make a gift card holder to pop them in. I have used this fabulous tutorial by Di Barnes. Make sure you check it out on her blog.

You use a full sheet of Designer Series Paper and after a few score lines and folds you end up with this.

A cute belly band holds it all shut.

Inside there are 2 pockets - one for your gift card and one for a card to write your message on.

Dresses up a plain old gift card!

Here is my other version. I am not as happy with this one but I am getting down to my least favourite pieces of DSP.

So now..... what is next on my list! I hope that you are getting through your list....and checking is see what it really not necessary!
