Stamp Review Crew - Perfectly Plaid

Welcome back to another Stamp Review Crew blog hop. The Stamp Review Crew is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world that get together on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month for a blog hop. Each hop we showcase one stamp set and show you just how much you can do with it. Get ready for lots of inspiration and lots of reasons to use (or buy😊) this stamp set! Currently you are visiting Lou Kitzelman on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Hi!

For this hop we are featuring the Perfectly Plaid stamp set.

It is a really great set and the fact that it coordinates with the Pine Tree punch is a bonus. You know what that means! Beautiful cards made quickly and easily!

Of course there are lots of fancy card designs you could make with this bundle but today I wanted to show you some cards that are quick, easy and perfect to mass produce.

Adding in the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper with those gorgeous gold stripes means you have the perfect backdrop for your punched trees.

Add in a touch of ribbon and some gold foil edging and you have an elegant card that doesn't necessarily look like it was quick and easy.

By simply using a different piece of dsp from the pack and a different colour you get a different look.

Make sure you hop around to see what all the crew have done with this gorgeous stamp set. Next up is the fabulous Heidi Baks.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #67 Blog Hop

Welcome back for another Colour INKspiration challenge. We have a rich and bold colour combination for this challenge.

It must be that time of year - you know how it is - some annoying person tells you how many days until Christmas and you go into a tailspin wondering how you will get it all done! So let's just say I spent a tad too long in the tailspin and have left this to the last minute. So it will almost be like - this is what I made, here's a close up, see ya!

So ..... this is what I made! I've used the Still Scenes bundle to make a quick snow globe card. Vellum gives that see through (ish) look, quickly. It is hard to photograph but in natural light you can see through a bit more that it shows here.

Here's a close up! (Couldn't resist!) I've used some Ice Stampin' Glitter on the card front, in the groves of the snow globe stand and inside the snow globe. Well a snow globe needs the snow! Just add some Fine Tip glue wherever you want the glitter, sprinkle on, leave to sit for a few minutes then shake off excess. My Pacific Point twine is from the Follow Your Art embellishment kit. The little heart trinket is also from that kit - just that little special touch to jazz up my quick card.

And don't you just love that sentiment! It is one from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set. There are so many great sentiment stamps in that set!

INKspired to join the challenge? It's so easy. Firstly, get some INKspiration by hopping around to see what all of the Colour INKspiration Crew have to show you. Then you have 12 days from today to make and upload your creation to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group. You don't have to have a blog to participate but if you do you can link back to your post. Make sure you use all of the challenge colours. You can also use Whisper White, Very Vanilla and Basic Black as well as Metallics. Not a member of the Facebook group yet? Just click here and ask to join Colour INKspiration, add the group to your favourites and share it with your crafty friends so they can join in the fun too. We can't wait to see what you create with these gorgeous colours.

Next up we have the fabulous Leonie Stuart. Make sure you check out her take on this colour combination. You will love it!

Just Add Ink #482 - Just Add a Sketch

At Just Add Ink this week we have a great sketch for you. If you are hitting that preChristmas panic like me, then having an idea like this sketch is a great way to kick start your creating.
I used the sketch to help guide the layout of this cute baby card.

The Dino Days bundle has great images to use for fun baby cards. Don't you just love that egg!

The Dinoroar Designer Series Paper has this great egg pattern. I just used the colours from that in the rest of my card - Pineapple Punch and Pretty Peacock.

Make sure you pop on over to the Just Add Ink page to see how all the other Design Team members used this sketch. Why not enter your own creation? We always love seeing them!

Creating Kindness Design Team November blog hop - Fancy Folds

Hi and welcome to the November Creating Kindness Design Team blog hop. This month we are all about fancy folds and we welcome Sue Plote as our guest designer. She is amazing so make sure you check out her blog.

For my fancy fold I was inspired by a great card that Michelle Last made. I loved the elegant simplicity of it. The cut out star front is just lovely.

I have used the So Many Stars bundle. There is so much to that bundle so stay tuned as I use it more over the coming weeks.  Because you are cutting areas out you get enough left overs to make this great star tag as well.

I've adapted Michelle's design and turned it into a tri-fold card. When you open the front you see this .....

..... and then open it again to reveal the message panel. To make the card you simply cut a piece of A4 at 14.5 cm then score at 10 and 20 cm. The last panel will be slightly narrower so make sure that is the one you fold into the inside so it all sits flat.

I taught this card fold in a class this week so here is one using the Perfectly Plaid bundle. So easy to make this card fold. As  you know at busy times I am all about minimum effect, maximum effect!

Oh and here is one more using a different piece of Designer Series Paper. Same, same but different!

Make sure you continue the blog hop. Next up is my wonderful and very clever friend Jenny Hall. Can't wait to see her fancy fold!

Happy Graduation - featuring Well Said and Geared Up Garage

Hope the weekend finds you well and doing something fabulous. Just a quick post today to show a fun card I just finished. I was asked to make a card for a boy graduating high school and about to start an apprenticeship to become a boiler maker. I really love making custom orders - it is a great challenge.

Stampin' Up! has great products for so many occasions. The Well Said stamp set and Well Written dies cover so many occasions and just so happens to have a graduation stamp!

I love that the dies and stamped words are a good size. It makes it easy to make a statement!

I have used images from the Geared Up Garage stamp set and the coordinating Garage Gears dies to make it suit the boiler maker in the making.

The Well Said bundle has really great dies and images that you can use on the inside of the card too.

To add texture I have used the dies with Embossing Mats (retired). They allow you to get an impression from the die without it cutting the whole way through. The Come to Gather ribbon combo pack was perfect to add some more texture. I love the Cajun Craze twine!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Just Add Ink #480 - Just Add a Technique

At Just Add Ink this week we are challenging you to add a Technique. Oooooh I love a good technique!

I have used a technique using heat embossing and stencils. It doesn't really have a name. I just wondered if it would work, so played around with it. And as you can see it did work. You can find a video here showing how I did this. The video also shows how to colour the background but I didn't think this card needed it.

The copper embossing powder has such great depth and the texture you get when you use the Versamark ink through the stencil adds to the tree-y-ness.

I tend to make masculine cards using blues so wanted to try a different colour combination today. The Cajun Craze base looks great with the copper embossing and I added in some Champagne foil for the cogs.

The Geared Up Garage stamp set and coordinating Garage Dies have the perfect elements to use with a collagy card like this. I thought the sentiment that I used on the inside went perfectly with the 'You're a classic' that I used on the front. It is from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set

Make sure you pop on over to the Just Add Ink page to see what technique all the other Design Team members used. Why not enter your own creation? We always love seeing them!
