Stamp Review Crew - Beautiful Day

Welcome back to another Stamp Review Crew blog hop. The Stamp Review Crew is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world that get together on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month for a blog hop. Each hop we showcase one stamp set and show you just how much you can do with it. Get ready for lots of inspiration and lots of reasons to use (or buy😊) this stamp set! Currently you are visiting Lou Kitzelman on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Hi!

For this hop we are featuring the Beautiful Day stamp set.

This set has been out for a while but it's still one that I love. It has really large images and sentiments which are perfect to use when creating during busy times .... like now for me! I always have the best intentions and really want to be able to put lots of time into my handmade cards, but lets face it, sometimes there are just not enough hours in the day to do it all! Beautiful Day comes to the rescue! Add in some gold heat embossing and some pretty Designer Series Paper (DSP) and you have a great card in next to no time.

Before Christmas I made some fun cards using a fold that I am a calling 'Show off your DSP' card fold. You can see my Christmas examples here and here.

I always feel mean when I have to adhere a pretty side of the DSP down, but with this fold you get to do what the name says - show off your DSP!

When you open the card you get to see the other side of your DSP. It's like an extra design element for free!

I have used the Golden Honey Specialty DSP which you can earn for free during Sale-a-bration when you spend $90 AUD. The gorgeous gold on the paper gave me the idea to heat emboss my flower in gold.

The butterfly worked well with this fold too. I simply changed the orientation and used a different piece of DSP from the pack.

My 'Show off your DSP' card fold is super easy to make. I have made mine using Australian A4 cardstock but it will easily adapt to other card stock sizes.

You will need:
    - card base 10.5 cm x 14 cm
    - DSP - 1/4 of a large sheet ( 6" x 6") trimmed on one side at 13.5 cm. Score along the long edge at 10 cm.

I used the 3rd and 4th largest rectangles from the Stitched Rectangles dies to make the mats.

Easy peasy!

Make sure you hop around to see what all the crew have done with this gorgeous stamp set. Next up is my wonderful and talented friend Nikki Spencer. Can't wait to see what she has whipped up.
