Stamp Review Crew - Rooted in Nature stamp set

Welcome back to another Stamp Review Crew blog hop. The Stamp Review Crew is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world that get together on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month for a blog hop. Each hop we showcase one stamp set and show you just how much you can do with it. Get ready for lots of inspiration and lots of reasons to use (or buy😊) this stamp set! Currently you are visiting Lou Kitzelman on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Hi!

For this hop we are featuring Rooted in Nature.

Now this stamp set was one I was absolutely 100% positive that I would not get. I just could not see the attraction. My problem is that sometimes I think of products only in light of how they look within the suite of products that they come from. Once I got the creative blinkers off, I began to see so much possibility with this set. So, of course, I caved and bought it! It helps that it has fabulous coordinating framelits too! So on my card for this hop .......

I made another Pocket Card. They are so fun to make and, might I say, a touch addictive. My talented friend Jackie Aitken designed the tutorial that I used for AddINKive Designs. You can see more of my pocket card obsession here!

They have a fun slide out card. The tutorial has a tab on the card to make it easier to pull out but I just couldn't get one to look right with the rest of the design. Best not to talk about how much time I wasted trying to get it to work! I figured that the recipient could easily stick their fingers in to slide the card out. Well ...... I hope they can!

There are quite a few element to this stamp set that (dare I say) is fast becoming my new favourite. I stamped leaves in Mint Macaron and Soft Sea Foam and added in some embossed vellum leaves too.

The leaves were raised to different heights with the sentiment hand cut and staggered across the top of them.

It's actually a pretty simple design that would work well on a card front too. I spent quite a bit of time trying to arrange the leaves but sometimes simple is best! I wish I realised that an hour before I did! Then I just added some strands of copper metallic thread, Blackberry Bliss twine and a copper leaf to jazz it up a bit. And it all sits on this gorgeous Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.

A few weeks ago I made another card using Rooted in Nature. I wanted to include it in this post to show you that it works with different colours. As crafters we need to take the blinkers off more often and craft a bit more freely I think!

Make sure you hop around to see what all the crew have done with this gorgeous stamp set. Next up is the fabulous Kelly Kent. You will love where her creative mind wandered!

  8. What a great pocket card, Lou! Isn't it amazing how we get so wound up on a specific element that we lose sight of the overall goal? I can't tell you how many times I've done the same thing and ended up going with the very first design. But the great thing is that all those other tries are ideas I can use for other projects...hopefully.
