We have a sketch to kickstart your creativity at Just Add Ink this week.
Do you ever sit down to create something and it takes a completely different direction? That's how this card went. I started with some Old Olive, blending brushes and the Luxe White Specialty Designer Series Paper and set about creating a background for my lilies. Turns out the background made the lilies look drab so I ditched that piece and used the paper as is for a crisper design. You can find the second card I made using my first background later in this post.
I cut the background paper into strips and adhered to a backing leaving a small space in between to recreate our sketch.
The Lily Of The Valley bundle has gorgeous dies. I particularly love the lattice die and think that it will be on high rotation in my designs in the coming weeks (or months)!
Oh and did you notice my offset panel? This was something I used to do years ago as a point of difference and I'm bringing it back! Make sure to check that it will still fit into your envelope before adding the overhang. Just an easy way to add a bit of something something to your design!
Sketches really are great to base your designs, especially if you need a touch of inspiration. So here you go - 1 sketch, 2 designs.
The Luxe White Specialty Designer Series Paper has a silver pattern on it which makes it perfect for ink blending. The patterns really comes out as you add the ink. Keeping the ink darker in one section and fading out adds nice interest. Some foliage from the Fern & Flora was all I needed to add to my sentiment for this simple card.
