Funky Folds February 2026 Blog Hop - Lovely Blossoms Hinge Card

 

Welcome to the February 2026 Funky Folds Blog Hop. We are a group of like-minded paper crafters who love to make cards with funky folds. Funky actually means "modern and stylish in an unconventional or striking way"... so we are featuring cards that are not your usual rectangle/square portrait or landscape style. Think 'easel', 'pop-up', 'gatefold', 'z-fold', 'shaped' or 3D cards etc. The list is endless. 



All Blog Hops have an 'anything goes' theme using any type of 'funky' card fold. This month I've made a Hinge Card featuring the Lovely Blossoms Suite Collection. This is an Online Exclusive and is definitely worth checking out. This card fold is featuring in my February classes. You can see 2 other versions I have made here and here. 

The Hinge Card fold is one I am putting in the same class as the Easel Card fold. It looks like a regular card when it's flat ..... 


... but has a hinge opening to reveal the inside. Look ... it's not a super fancy card fold .... but you know what ... it is easy to make yet still elicits a wow on opening. That is a winner in my books. 

 


 A simple google search will find you many instructions. The basic idea is that you cut off a piece from the right hand edge of your card front and then score in that same amount from the right hand edge of the back of your card. The score line is folded to form a mountain and is the hinge. 


It isn't hard to change up the looks but flipping over the Designer Series Paper to use a coordinating design.
