Funky Folds December 2024 Blog Hop - Decorative Trees Tri-Fold Accordion Card

Welcome to the December 2024 Funky Folds Blog Hop. We are a group of like-minded paper crafters who love to make cards with funky folds. Funky actually means "modern and stylish in an unconventional or striking way"... so we are featuring cards that are not your usual rectangle/square portrait or landscape style. Think 'easel', 'pop-up', 'gatefold', 'z-fold', 'shaped' or 3D cards etc. The list is endless.

Our Blog Hops usually have an 'anything goes' theme using any type of 'funky' card fold but for December we are looking back over the hops this year and are each choosing a fold someone else has used. There have been so many amazing card folds showcased so the decision was tough. I decided to go with something that looks really really fancy but doesn't take too much time to whip up. What we all need at this crazy time of year! This month I've made Tri-fold Accordion Card which Bronwyn Eastley featured in our May hop. You can see her stunning creation here. Bron's post includes the measurements for you.

This is a really versatile fold. You can start with cardstock and add decorative papers or cut out the middle man (so to speak) and just start with the paper as I have done. When you are using paper as pretty as the Season of Elegance Designer Series Paper it needs to be the star of the show! These are definitely 'less is more' designs.

A few simple score lines and folds and you have this fab design.

You can go as crazy as you like on each layer. I had intended to add more trees and sentiment panels but I loved the simple elegance of these.

I have added a panel on the back for messages. You can add this on the front if you prefer.
