Welcome to the November 2024 Funky Folds Blog Hop. We are a group of like-minded paper crafters who love to make cards with funky folds. Funky actually means "modern and stylish in an unconventional or striking way"... so we are featuring cards that are not your usual rectangle/square portrait or landscape style. Think 'easel', 'pop-up', 'gatefold', 'z-fold', 'shaped' or 3D cards etc. The list is endless.
All Blog Hops have an 'anything goes' theme using any type of 'funky' card fold. This month I've made a pretty simple card. It's a Surprise Window Card featuring the Christmas Friends stamp set. It certainly won't be the fanciest card that you see on this blog hop but it is a great one to use at this busy time of year. It is pretty quick to whip up, folds flat for posting and then stands up for display. Win Win I think!
The Christmas Friends bundle is full of gorgeous images .... so many that I had to make 3 cards to use them!
The Season of Gold Designer Series Paper is an online exclusive and is full of lovely patterns - gold and Very Vanilla on one side and shades of green on the other.
The paper is perfect for this fold as you see both sides once it is open.
Here are two more. Don't you just love the watercoloured animals. So cute!
The card fold starts with a standard card base with a window die cut from the front.
I started with a piece of Designer Series Paper 14.5 cm x 30.5 cm (12"). To make it easier to cut I then used imperial measurements. The card front is 4" wide. The rest is for the inside. Score at 4" and 6" along the inside to form the fold out section.
I placed a plain Very Vanilla die cut into the space. You adhere it only to the folded section.
These are quite tricky to take pics of. I can assure you they look so much more impressive in real life. I hope you give them a try.
The pieces that you die cut from the front make perfect tags using left over pieces.
