Funky Folds September 2024 Blog Hop - Christmas Wishes Kit Fancy Fold Alternative

Welcome to the September 2024 Funky Folds Blog Hop. We are a group of like-minded paper crafters who love to make cards with funky folds. Funky actually means "modern and stylish in an unconventional or striking way"... so we are featuring cards that are not your usual rectangle/square portrait or landscape style. Think 'easel', 'pop-up', 'gatefold', 'z-fold', 'shaped' or 3D cards etc. The list is endless.

All Blog Hops have an 'anything goes' theme using any type of 'funky' card fold. This month I've made and alternate design using products from the Christmas Wishes Kit. This is the fabulous kit. The kit includes a fab stamp set, ink and all the makings for 8 cards and envelopes and costs $41. You can order it here

This is what the cards look like if you follow the directions in the kit.

I came up with a simple Pop-Out design using the same pieces from the kit.

I turned the card inside out and added a sentiment panel. The main detail looks like it is hovering in air.

To create the pop-out box I scored a 7 cm x 8.5 cm piece of Poppy Parade cardstock along the long side at 1.5 cm, 3.5 cm, 5 cm and 7 cm. Then I simply folded on each score line and adhered the first and last sections together to form a box. You just need to play around with the placement so that the elements don't poke out when closed otherwise it won't fit into the gorgeous gold envelope.

And what was the inside sentiment panel now becomes the card front.

This is such a fab kit and one you really should check out. It has great stamps included and, as I have shown you today, you can easily step up the designs to add a bit of drama.

Next up you are off to see another amazing funky fold. Click the 'next blog' tab in the list below to get there.
