Welcome back for another Colour INKspiration challenge. This inspiration picture which has inspired our colour palette was chosen by Crew Founder, Bronwyn Eastley.
These colours (ice)SCREAM Christmas to me! So .... of course ... I set about creating a card featuring a removable Christmas Ornament. Gotta love a 2-for-1 design!
The rosettes created using the die from the Round We Go set make the perfect Christmas ornament. Adding some ribbon, holly (Hang An Ornament bundle) and a sentiment (Peaceful Season bundle) is all it takes!
I created a hanger using one of the label dies in the Peaceful Season set. The ornament can 'hang' on the card and then be easily removed to add to a tree.
So that the card still looks great without the ornament, I have used the Painted Trees 3D Embossing Folder and sentiment. It took me a while to work out a design that looked great together and separate!
My aim it to die cut a whole heap of the rosettes from the gorgeous new papers in the September-December 2024 Catalogue so that I can make them whenever I have a few spare minutes. Here's hoping to not be running around like a headless chook come December!

Hi Lou, this is a beautiful card. Can I please ask how you attached the rosette to the hanger. Thanks Sheila x
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila. If you scroll down the post you will see a pic with the rosette beside the card. You'll see on the card that I have used a label with a slit in it. The ribbon hanger of the rosette just slides through that. Thicker ribbon works better as it grabs better and doesn't slide out as easy. Thanks for taking the time to look at my creations. Lou
DeleteThank you so much Lou for getting back to me, I have looked at the photo but I am a bit confused how you have attached the ribbon to the rosette and be able to put it through the slot xx
ReplyDeleteSorry Sheila. I misunderstood. Once I formed the rosette I glued a 1" circle on the back and pressed until dry to keep it all in place. I cut a piece of ribbon at 30cm and glued it to this circle so that 2 tails are below the rosette and the hanger is above. The halfway point of the ribbon is the top of the hanger. I then glued a larger circle over the top with a small sentiment stamped on it to hide the ribbon and glue. I thought that I had added pics of this but can see that I didn't. I have taught this class several times so must have been thinking of that. I you would like a copy of my class notes feel free to contact me via the button at the top of this page and I can email it to you with pics of the back of my rosette,
