Funky Folds August 2024 Blog Hop - Simply Zinnia Pop-Out Flower Box Card

Welcome to the August 2024 Funky Folds Blog Hop. We are a group of like-minded paper crafters who love to make cards with funky folds. Funky actually means "modern and stylish in an unconventional or striking way"... so we are featuring cards that are not your usual rectangle/square portrait or landscape style. Think 'easel', 'pop-up', 'gatefold', 'z-fold', 'shaped' or 3D cards etc. The list is endless.

All Blog Hops have an 'anything goes' theme using any type of 'funky' card fold. This month I've made Pop-Out Flower Box card featuring the Simply Zinnia bundle.

I made this card for one of my most favourite people in the world who is currently in hospital and facing a long recovery. What better way to cheer someone up than with an everlasting floral arrangement! This card folds flat to fit into a standard envelope so is perfect for sending to someone special.

This is a card fold that I designed a few years ago as part of a Bow-Ho Stampers Tutorial Collection. Here is my original card. You can find the more information about it and the Tutorial Collection here.

It is a really neat card fold. I love that once you master it, you can use different products to achieve totally different looks.

I die cut zinnias from different coloured cardstock and then arranged them in the pop-out section. To give them added strength I have added strips of Window Sheets behind each freestanding bloom. Don't want them to wilt!

I love that sentiment in the Simply Zinnia stamp set. Perfect for this occasion. Hopefully it brightens up what is going to be a long road to recovery. Seems like such a small thing to do but sending cards is the perfect way to show that you care.
