Colour INKspiration Challenge #100 - Artistically Inked

Welcome to another fabulous Colour INKspiration challenge. This one is a bit special as we are celebrating our 100th challenge. I am proud to say that I have been a crew member since the very first challenge. Past and present crew members are some of the nicest people I know. Colour INKspiration was founded by Bronwyn Eastley in 2017. She put together a crew of 25. We still have 8 original members on the Colour INKspiration Crew. Our first challenge CI#01 was way back on January 11, 2017. You can check out my post here

For our 100th challenge it seems only right that our founder, Bronwyn Eastly, should pick the picture. This is Bridestowe Lavender Farm which is close to where Bronwyn lives in Tasmania.  Look at those amazing colours!

I am in a Slimline Card phase at the moment! I decided to use the Artistic Dies and Artistically Inked stamp set for my card. I love that the images look like they have been stamped using ink and alcohol.

You might notice that my stamped images are a touch lighter than the ink colours. I found a fab tip on Instagram earlier this week from Christine Wrede. She suggested using blending brushes to apply the ink to the stamps so that you can see all of the details. I love that you get a softer colour too.

I also saw another fabulous tip from my friend Kelly Kent. She inks the stamp first then smooths with a blending brush before stamping. You get a much darker and true to colour stamped image as you can see below.

Now were you wondering how I managed to emboss a piece of cardstock longer than my embossing folder? I bet you were! This works with embossing folders that have a repeated pattern. You pop your cardstock into the folder and when you go to run it through your Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine you make sure that the top plate is not covering the end of the folder.

Then you take your cardstock out, turn it around and find where the pattern is repeated and line it up with the end 5-ish cm of your embossing. Then place the top plate over with the end hanging out. This stops you getting an impression from the end of the folder. This is such a great way to get more use from your embossing folders.

So there you go ... a longer piece of embossed cardstock. Isn't that check embossing fab? That folder comes in a pack of 2 called the Checks and Dots Embossing Folders. The dots can be extended in the same way but that will have to wait for another day!

INKspired to join the challenge? It's so easy. Firstly, get some INKspiration by checking out all of the creations of the Colour INKspiration Crew in the challenge album on our Facebook page.
