Just Add Ink #552 - Just Add an Inspiration Pic - Hand-Penned Petals

Oh Friday! I love you! Up for some creating over the weekend? Check out this beautiful inspiration pic that we have to kick start that creativity for this week's Just Add Ink challenge

Now I had planned to use one of the stamp sets retiring on May 3 .... but I just could not resist using some new products from the new Stampin' Up! 2021-22 Annual Catalogue. I am only human after all! You can order from it from next Tuesday, May 4th. And of course you should snap up any of the retiring products (many of which are reduced) before then.

So .... I took inspiration from the layout and floral theme of the inspiration pic. The Hand-Penned Petals stamp set and Penned Flowers dies were perfect for the job. I actually didn't think that I would love this bundle as much as I do. It is so quick and easy to use. I was a bit unsure about the fact that the flower and leaf stamps don't match up exactly with the outline image but it actually gives it an arty feel AND you don't have to faff about trying to line it all up perfectly. Winning I say!

I have used one of the new InColors - Pale Papaya. It is a really lovely colour. I have used the matching Genial Gems and Woven Ribbon. And what about the font on the sentiment! Love it! I have used the new Tailor Made Tags Dies to frame my 'thanks'.

The Penned Flowers dies has this scallop and stitched edge in the set. How pretty does that look on the edges of my card!

My card came together really easily. I stamped 2 of the single flower stem and 1 of the mass of flowers, stamped the leaves and flower and then die cut. They are a great size so that is all it took to cover the edge of my card. I made sure to sit my card base on my envelope before placing the flowers on to ensure it would fit inside.

As I write this I feel quite virtuous as I realised that I did in fact use some retiring products! The paper is from the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper which just happens to be reduced as well. I have embossed it using the Pinewood Embossing folder (now sold out).

Make sure you pop on over to the Just Add Ink page to see how all the other Design Team members took inspiration from the pic. Why not enter your own creation? We always love seeing them!
