Well another month has rolled around and suddenly it is time for the November Creating Kindness Design Team blog and video hop. We welcome Jo Blackman from the UK as our Guest Designer. Check out her amazing blog here.
Our theme for November is sure to get you started on your Christmas preparation - Gifts and Gift Packaging. My project is pretty simple but I think you might just love it. I have a few teenagers to buy for in my family this year and they all want money or gift cards. At first I felt a bit slack, but they always pop the money towards some longed for item, so I'm okay with it! Now! So to jazz it up, I have designed a Gift Card Holder. It has a fun pocket inside that you can pop in a gift card, money or Scratchies (instant lottery tickets). They fit into a normal envelope so they are perfect to post as well. I feel like I am winning all round!
The early release Quite Curvy Variety Bundle seemed the perfect suite of products to use. I adore that decorative edge and there are enough stamps in the Curvy Christmas stamp set so that I can make several different designs. This is a fab bundle and can be purchased through my online store.
I have kept my designs quite simple so they would be easy for you to mass produce but of course you can go crazy with the decoration. How great does that sentiment look nestled into the curve!
You open the first flap to reveal some Designer Series Paper (Cherry Cobbler in the pic above) and then unfold once more to reveal the pocket and message panel.
I love this dotted, curvy border die. Adding the gold edge just adds that extra class. Check out my video below where I show you how to make this. If you changed the sentiment this card would work for any occasion.
Each card is constructed in the same manner. The Gold Cord from the Wonder of the Season Ribbon Combo pack is so pretty and tying it in a bow is all the decoration I felt my Shaded Spruce version needed. Oh and some bling from the Wonderful Gems pack.
This Shaded Spruce version and the Cherry Cobbler one above use Designer Series Paper from the Quite Curvy Variety bundle called Classic Christmas. The patterns are really versatile and most are not specific to Christmas .... winning! Each card is coloured using coordinating Stampin' Blends.
I wanted to make a version using the stars from the Curvy Christmas stamp set. Check out my video where I show you how to make this card.
I love this Pretty Peacock version. I may be biased as that is one of my favourite Stampin' Up! colours! I was so happy when I heard that the Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper would be available again. Such gorgeous colours!
I really do love how the sentiment nestles into the curve!
To compliment the copper in the paper, I have added some Copper Foil Stars using the Stitched Stars dies. The Star Designer Elements added a bit of dimension to my card front.
And then to top it all off I had to add in this gorgeous copper ribbon from the Basket Weave and Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack.
Make sure you continue both the video and blog hop. Next up is Marcy. Can't wait to see her take on Christmas Gift or Gift Packaging!
