Creating Kindness Design Team October 2020 blog hop - Embossing with a Twist - Peace and Joy

Hi and welcome back for another Creating Kindness Design Team blog hop. The months certainly seem to whizz on by quickly! This month our theme is embossing with a twist and we welcome Monica Formosa as our Guest Designer. Check our her fabulous creations here

So .... embossing with a twist ..... so much scope. You can dry emboss with embossing folders or heat emboss with embossing powders. I decided to give Iron-off Emboss Resist a go. I have tried it many years ago but recently I saw this embossing tip by Member of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team, Manuela Geiswinkler. You end up with a faux Batik type effect.

I have used the Peace & Joy bundle. I stamped my leaves on Watercolour paper in Versamark Ink and then embossed with  White Stampin' Emboss Powder.

Sometimes it is hard to work out the placement of your background stamping. Some people make it look effortless but I find a bit of planning helps! I have traced around the large Peace die cut so that I knew where it would sit. The stems underneath are a bit of a mess but they get covered so it's not a problem. Once heat embossed, I spritzed with water and then added a wash of Soft Seafoam, Just Jade and Shaded Spruce inks. Once dry you place a piece of copy paper over your watercoloured pieces and iron on a dry setting. The embossing powder is transfered to the paper and you get a neat effect. So embossing ... with a twist!

The black outline around the die cut word really makes it all pop. I do love this bundle!

I added in some Just Jade ribbon and acrylic dot thingys (that would be the technical term!) to finish off my design.

The Flirty Flamingo die cut and stamped words work really well with the green and black I think!

Make sure you continue the blog hop - you are sure to get lots of inspiration. Next up is the fabulous Liz Yuille. Can't wait to see her take on embossing with a twist!
