Hi and welcome to our September Creating Kindness Design Team blog hop. Our theme for the month is Colour and we welcome my good friend and fellow Aussie, Nicole Wilson our Guest Designer. Check out her fab blog here.
When I started to design my projects for the hop I still had the gorgeous Rainbow Glimmer paper on my desk from a tutorial I had been working on (details at the end of this post). I didn't think that I would love this glimmer paper as much as I do. It's actually really pretty and .... full of colour .... so perfect for our theme.
I had intended to add more detail and layers to my first card but I gave myself a good talking to and decided that less was more in this case!
I have used the Peace & Joy bundle. Gee I love this bundle! I love the layers around the die cut words. I used the middle layer to die cut 'bright' from the glimmer paper. I then layered the large strip of glimmer paper over Whisper White cardstock and then added a Basic Black narrow 'bright'. I adhered it to my Basic Black card base on an angle for fun. Add in the 'merry and' plus some stripy twine from the Playful Pets ribbon combo pack and I was all set! How simple is that to add colour to a fun, bright Christmas card!
This design ends up being a 2 for 1 as you have the glimmer paper die cut - you can't waste it - it's too pretty! I've used the same design layout as my first card.
Make sure you continue the blog hop to see lots of beautiful colour. Next up you are off to the UK to visit Liz Yuille. Can't wait to see her take on colour!
