Creating Kindness Design Team June 2020 blog hop - Texture

Hi and welcome to our June Creating Kindness Design Team blog hop. We welcome Melinda Stearns as our guest designer. Check out her fab blog here

Our theme for this month is texture. Straight away I knew that I wanted to use some of the fabulous new Embossing Folders that Stampin' Up! released in their new 2020-21 Annual Catalogue this week. Embossing folders are a fabulous way to easily add texture to your creations.

And of course I just had to use the new In Colors that were released yesterday. Aren't they wonderful!

Have a fave? Mine is Just Jade. To make each card, I have used the cardstock in each new colour and the coordinating In Color Designer Series Paper.

The  Greenery Embossing folders is a pack of 2. The first one has this great foliage design, top and bottom of the folder. Adding the bottom panel on an angle creates a bit of interest. I have added this gorgeous new Brass Foil to divide my 2 layers.

And because I was itching to use all of my new products, I have added in some new embellishments too. Take a look at the wooden In Good Taste Elements, fabulous Just Jade ribbon and 2020-22 In Color Enamel Dots. Gorgeous!

The second embossing folder in the Greenery pack is this leaf design. It also looks like knitting stitches to me! So I guess it will be very versatile!

The Misty Moonlight Twine is from the Flowers for Every Season combo pack

I thought that Cinnamon Cider would be the perfect colour to use with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing folder. The depth of this texture is amazing.

The gorgeous gold twine is from the Forever Greenery Trim combo pack. I have already used so much of it! It works really well with the Brass Foil even though they are different tones.

The great thing about using embossing folders is that you get 2 different patterns. Simply by turning your embossed piece over you get a different look. This is the reverse side of a piece of Bumble Bee cardstock embossed with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing folder

To me Magenta Madness is a bit ... well ... mad. It is loud and proud so I decided to use the subtle Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder with it to tone it down a touch. Touches of white go really nicely with it. The ribbon is also from the Flowers for Every Season combo pack

There are so many ways to add texture to your projects. Make sure you continue our blog hop to check all of the different ideas. Next up is the amazing Danielle Bennenk. Can't wait to see her take on texture!
