Hi and welcome to our ESAD (Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators) blog hop. We are farewelling our favourite products that are retiring. It is that bitter sweet time - we say so long to some fab products and get ready to welcome new goodies from the 2020 - 2021 Annual Catalogue, launched on June 3. As you hop around to each of our blogs, make sure you take note of the retiring products that you just have to have and then don't waste any time in ordering them. They are selling out fast!
I must say, this is a time I get a bit upset with myself - that moment you realise that you still have lots of products that you haven't used as much as you wanted to (or should have!). For me it is usually Designer Series Paper (DSP) that I have tonnes of left. So for my cards today I wanted to give a new twist to the nautically themed Come Sail Away DSP. I've also used the Perennial Birthday and Outdoor Barbecue stamp sets.
The card base of my first card is stamped with Versamark and heat embossed using White embossing powder. Using a makeup blending brush to rub Night of Navy ink over the embossed words helps to bring them out.
This cute little tag is from the Bouquet Bunch dies (also retiring). I did have to partially die cut it to extend the length. I love this sentiment!
A fussy cut, silver embossed barbie finished off my design. Oh and some retiring twine with the panel raised on foam adhesive strips.
Kelly Kent talked me into buying Perennial Birthday to use on one of our joint projects. I DID NOT like it or want to buy it but Kelly talked it up so I grudgingly bought it .... and complained everytime we used it in our projects! Kelly .... I'm not saying I was wrong about it ..... but ..... I may have been mistaken! I can't tell you how often I use it. It is a great stamp set to have on hand. The large Happy Birthday is a fab size.
When I use a stamp set with little flowers, I often use them to add detail near the sentiment. So for these cards I have used the equivalent in this stamp set - a T-bone! Why not!
I hope that you enjoyed my Nautical take on a BBQ! Please make sure you hop around to see what all of the girls have created. May your wishlist be long! Next up is the fabulous Rebecca Scurr.
