The year is just zipping by isn't it! Welcome to the October Creating Kindness Design Team blog hop. Our theme for this month is colouring and we welcome the fabulous Cathy Caines as our Guest Designer. Check out her great blog here.
I love so many forms of colouring and my favourite type changes regularly! I decided for this hop that I would show you an easy way to get great watercoloured backgrounds. It is also the perfect technique to show off great images like the ones I've used from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set. The Gleaming Ornaments punch pack make punching out the baubles so quick and easy.
I've used one of the masks from the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks and Shimmer White Stampin' Emboss powder and watercolouring to form my background.
It is so much easier to show you how I did this rather than type it, so check out my video.
The Shimmer White Stampin' Emboss powder really does add a lovely sparkle to cards!
Watercolouring backgrounds this way really adds a softness to your cards and helps bolder images stand out. For this card I have used Rococo Rose and Night of Navy.
On my video I demonstrated the technique using the polka dot mask and Pretty Peacock and Pineapple Punch.
I hope you give this technique a go. It is fun and effective and the perfect way to while away a bit of time.
Make sure you continue both the video and blog hop. Next up is my lovely and incredibly talented friend Jenny Hall. Can't wait to see her take on colouring!
