Creating Kindness Design Team September 2019 blog hop - Re-inkers

Well Spring has sprung here in Australia! Suddenly is it warming up and I saw (thanks to my cat madly running around) my first snake of the season. It was only a small green tree snake but I still had visions of it swallowing Millie whole. Who knows why weird things run through my mind! Needless to say, Millie is enjoying the outside through glass at the moment! #veryoverprotectivecatmother!

So it is our September Creating Kindness Design Team blog hop and we are welcoming Tami Hewlett as our Guest Designer this month. Make sure you check out her amazing blog here. Our theme for the month is Re-inkers. The little bottles of ink that you use to ink up your inkpads when they dry out can be used for so many other things. I can't wait to see all of the techniques that the team come up with.

I have a simple technique to show you using cling wrap. The clear plastic wrap that you use to wrap sandwiches etc is so useful in the craft room! Used with reinkers, it allows you to create lovely, deep and variegated backgrounds.

Make sure you check out my video, where I show you how to do this fun technique. It is quite addictive and a brilliant stress reliever!

Now that you have seen how to do the technique, let's have a closer look at each card. The coloured pieces look great die cut.

And the sparkly veins you get when you use shimmer paint is just gorgeous.

I love the that pieces look great as a whole panel. The Well Said stamp set and Well Written dies are the perfect size to compliment cards like this.

If you use a larger piece of Shimmery White cardstock, you can try to leave some edges bare. I love the dry lines that you get on the edges.

I quite simply ran out of time to make up the piece I coloured in the video into a card, so make sure you come back in a few days to see how it turned out and what I did with it ..... I'm thinking a snowy scene!

Make sure you continue both the video and blog hop. Next up is Marcy. Can't wait to see her reinker technique!

Lou
