Just Add Ink #456 - Just Add Inspiration - Good Morning Magnolia

Hope you've had a fab week. Don't the weeks just roll by way too quickly? I hope that you have managed to fit a bit of creating into your week. If not, why not use the inspiration pic we have for this week's challenge to get your creative juices flowing.

I was inspired by the white flowers with the very light centres and used that as the base of my card. The new Magnolia Lane suite (available from June 4) is just so gorgeous so of course I had to use it!

Simple gold heat embossing and soft, light colouring were all I needed. The fabulous image does all the work for you!

It is such a large image and I'm just in love with it! I was really happy how the gold embossing went with this gorgeous new Petal Pink ribbon. I have used the light Powder Pink and Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends to colour my image. For really light, barely there colouring use the Colour Lifter as your light colour. Try to keep away from the embossed lines as it can mark your pens.

If you are having a bad day ... just do so some heat embossing. Cheers me up every time! I love how thick and raised the images are when you use the Stampin' Emboss Powders from Stampin' Up!.

The Good Morning Magnolia stamp set has this great flourish in it. And to accentuate it the coordinating Magnolia Memory thinlits emboss and die cut the edge for a bit of extra detail.

Make sure you pop on over to the Just Add Ink page to see how all the other Design Team members were inspired by this pic. Why not enter your own creation? We always love seeing them!

  1. Beautiful Lou - your magnolia steals the show! It makes the perfect focal point for a white card and your gold embossing adds a real touch of luxury.

  2. BEAUTIFUL! Trying to figure out the gold at the bottom of the card front - is it fussy cut and layered on?

    1. Hi Andrea. The gold is cut using a die in the Magnolia Memories Dies. I also used it to cut the edge of the gold embossing. If you have a look above in the product list you will be able to see the die I used.
