Stamp Review Crew - Barn Door

Welcome back to another Stamp Review Crew blog hop. The Stamp Review Crew is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world that get together on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month for a blog hop. Each hop we showcase one stamp set and show you just how much you can do with it. Get ready for lots of inspiration and lots of reasons to use (or buy😊) this stamp set! Currently you are visiting Lou Kitzelman on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Hi!

For this hop we are featuring the Barn Door stamp set.

The Barn Door stamp set coordinates with the matching Sliding Door framelit set that allows you to slide the doors but for these cards I wanted to make something different. These cards are for my Godchildren who always love receiving special cards from me. I love adding the element of surprise to their cards .....

so an opening door....

..... was perfect to hide a surprise behind!

This first card is for my 14 year old Goddaughter. She was staying with me this week and helped teach a class using shimmer spritzs. We had so much fun and shimmerised everything is sight well after everyone had left! You can read all about how I did this here. And pop back on Christmas Day to see the actual cards we did in the class. The shimmery coloured background is made using 3 different coloured shimmer spritzes - Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo and Berry Burst.

The backgrounds are so pretty and shimmery - perfect for Miss 14 - who loves all that glitters and shines. I added a Flirty Flamingo Deer on a wobble spring inside for a surprise.

My 11 year old godson had a different design - more suited to him.

But he didn't miss out on the a bit of shimmer spritz!

His beachy behind the door scene features Night of Navy and Daffodil Delight shimmer spritz. You  might also have noticed that each card is standing up. It is a tent card fold and you can find the instructions and measurements here.

Of course you can use the stamps in the Barn Door stamp set as is but I love it when I can use stamps to customise a card specifically for the recipient. I love how fab the door looks stamped on the Wood Textures DSP. This is the perfect stamp set to mix and match with other sets.

Make sure you hop around to see what all the crew have done with this gorgeous stamp set. Next up is Heidi. Can't wait to see what she has to show us!
