Hi and welcome to the August Stampin' Dreams blog hop. This month we are giving you a sneak peek at the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue that will be released on September 5th. Even though the title of the catalogue is holiday there is so much more in there. I haven't ordered any Christmas stuff from it yet - it seems to sit there looking at me making me feel inadequate for not being organised and starting my Christmas prep early! But I did get this fabulous stamp set called Country Home. It has a jug, urn and some floral arrangements. Perfect for a colouring nerd like me.
For my card I have used the Garden Gate Z-fold card tutorial from AddINKtive Designs. It is a great card fold that once you master you can adapt to use with lots of other stamp sets.
And it is the perfect card fold to show off these gorgeous flower arrangements!
I kept the decoration really simple. I wanted the flowers to be the star. In the catalogue there are 5 new colours of Stampin' Blends. It really is like Christmas!
Did you notice the metallic shimmer I have added to my card? The card base is Champagne Foil. The black cardstock was embossed using another new product - the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder - and then lightly brushed with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint. The shimmer paint comes in a few colours and has so many uses and is easy to use.
And check out the Braided Linen Thread! I slightly prized it apart to make it look a bit like a rustic table runner.
Of course you need somewhere to write your message! I have used my Stamparatus to perfectly position the square stamp to stamp this border.
This nifty card folds flat to fit into a standard envelope too for posting. It makes a lovely surprise for someone when they open an envelope and find a card that can stand up.
Make sure you check out each blog in this hop. Your wish list will be soooooo long by the end of it! Please let me know if you would like a Holiday Catalogue. Next up you are off to one of my stamping friends, Kim Oliver. Can't wait to see what she has come up with.
Lou
