Oh I do love to sploosh colour around! And this week our colours for our new Colour INKspiration challenge allowed for much splooshing!
Rose Wonder is one of my favourite stamp sets that I keep going back to. And yes, it is perfect for a bit of splooshing.
It is such a gorgeous image! I simply heat embossed in white and used my aqua painter to pick up ink from the ink pad lids. Island Indigo for the leaves and Powder Pink and Melon Mambo for the rose. I used 2 aqua painters when I coloured the rose - one for each colour - so that I didn't get the colours too muddled.
Once I had coloured the main image, I added a light wash of Pool Party around the edges, fading into the background to help frame it.
To add a bit of fun to the design I went with skewwiff mats as I often do when I have a bad case of 'operator error'! For some reason I could not get my Island Indigo mat to be the correct size. Adding in some vellum die cut leaves just added a little extra something I think. Not bad for a bit of splooshing! If you look closely (which I do not advise!) you will see that I really did sploosh about!
