Just Add Ink #393 - Just Add a Colour Combination

Hi Everyone. Happy Australia Day! Hope it is a good one for all who share this gorgeous country with me!

Something terrible happened this week! I was down to my last piece of Crumb Cake cardstock! Definitely a first world problem I know! Luckily I had enough for this week's colour challenge at Just Add Ink.

I had so much fun playing around with sponging, Shimmery White Embossing Paste and this cute Sweet Soiree Decorative Mask.

All I had to do to create the underwater plants was sponge Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide inks through the mask, clean and then preposition it slightly across and slightly up to create a shadow effect. Then I used my palette knife to create the sparkle that every self-respecting mermaid needs!

The mermaid is painted with an aqua painter and ink from the ink pad lid. She has some Wink Of Stella so she is not outshone by her surroundings! I overhung the front panel a touch for no other reason that I liked it that way! I did make sure it would fit into the envelope before I adhered it down with foam adhesive strips though.

The Shimmery White embossing paste is quite raised and adds a lovely detail to your cards. This is definitely one of those 'it is way better in real life' cards!

To get the 2 tone sentiment I inked with Lemon Lime Twist then carefully inked just the bottom in Tranquil Tide. It gives a bit of depth and interest with out being too fussy.

Make sure you pop on over to the Just Add Ink page to see how all the other Design Team members have used these gorgeous colours. Why not enter your own creation? We always love seeing them!
