What Will You Stamp? - #142 - Painted Harvest

Welcome to this week's challenge at What Will You Stamp? Each week we feature a different stamp set and start off the challenge by sharing our ideas for using it and then it is over to you. So check out all of the Design Team projects and if you are up for the challenge you can add your projects too. You might even be chosen as our next Guest Designer!

This week we are showcasing Painted Harvest.

This stamp set has been a favourite from the 2017 Stampin' Up! Holiday catalogue. I didn't buy it initially - I thought the Thanksgiving theme made it irrelevant to me here in Australia. Okay .... now I can freely admit that I was wrong! The images and sentiments can be used for so many occasions. Here are 3 cards I have made using a technique called Faux Silk.

I used one basic layout and just changed it slightly for each card.

To mat my sentiment, I simply punched a second label in Basic Black, cut in half and added to each side. I also love the Vintage Crochet Trim. Adds some fun texture.

This card is perfect to have in your stash to use for any occasion.

And you can't go wrong with Black and White can you? Now don't have a fit - but I actually cut the 'thanks' apart from the rest of the stamp to use for this card. It fits back neatly to stamp the whole sentiment without anyone knowing it was attacked by scissors.

Painted Harvest has a coordinating punch called the leaf punch. It not only punches out the stamped leaves but works really well with plain cardstock to add in little design details.

Want to try the Faux Silk technique?
  1. Cut a piece of tissue paper about 2.5 cm/1" larger on all sides than the piece of cardstock you will mat it to.
  2. Stamp your images on the tissue paper.
  3. Scrunch up into a ball and carefully unfold, without smoothing.
  4. Cover the front of your mat with glue - glue stick works the best.
  5. Lay the tissue paper over the mat, pressing in into the glue, leaving the wrinkles formed by scrunching.
  6. When you are happy with the level of wrinkliness, turn over and adhere the sides behind.
Make sure you check out all of the other projects from the other Design Team members and enter your project. We'd love to see what you create.
