Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - Favourite Technique

Welcome to the November Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop where we will be showing you our favourite techniques. I have combined two of my favourites - heat embossing and 2 tone stamping. Nothing creatively earth shattering but effective, easy and cool!

To show off my favourite techniques I thought I would combine it with some new products from the 2018 Occasions Catalogue from Stampin' Up! which will be launched on January 3rd. I was lucky enough to be chosen as a Display Stamper for an event called OnStage where demonstrators get together to see, use and get new products.

For these cards I am using a stamp set called Petal Palette. It has great images plus sentiments that really lend themselves to my favourite techniques.

For this card I have used the coordinating Petal Passion Memories & More card pack. I think this just might be my favourite card pack yet! Not just for memory keeping - it makes quick, easy yet elegant cards. Some of the sentiments in this stamp set have 2 fonts which makes it really easy to do 2 tone stamping. For this card I used Stampin' Write markers to colour the words. So easy! I love the way it give more oomph to the sentiment.

For my second card I teamed my 2 favourite techniques - copper heat embossing with 2 tone stamping. How gorgeous is that sentiment in the copper and black? The dotty background was made using the the strip of dots stamp stamped a few times, one above the other.

I love the shine and depth you get when you use Copper Embossing Powder.

Wondering how I did the sentiment? It is actually quite easy and will be even easier with Stampin' Up!s new stamp positioning tool - the Stamparatus. I have all the details about it at the end of this post so you can learn about it's amazing features and how you can preorder one.

For this panel, I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black first. When it was dry, I covered all but the fancy script words with bits of sticky notes and restamped in Versamark, added Copper Embossing Powder and heat embossed. The Stamparatus will make this so easy as the stamp will be perfectly positioned to stamp with the Versamark.

I have actually thrown in a 3rd favourite technique I realised! I have used the Reflection or Mirror stamping technique to get a second bird facing the opposite way. I stamped the image on a window sheet with versamark and then 'stamped' that on the cardstock and embossed. It is not as crisp as when you stamp the image directly.

If you can't wait till Janaury 3rd to get your hot little hands on these products why not join my team of demonstrators - you can have access to these products early plus join in the fun and friendship.

Make sure you check out the favourite techniques of everyone in the hop. You will see the line up at the bottom of each post. Next up is Sandra.
