Stampin’ Up! 2018 Occasions + SAB Display Stamper Blog Hop 1

Welcome to the Stampin’ Up! 2018 Occasions + Sale-A-Bration Display Stamper Blog Hop. We are Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all around the world who were chosen as display stampers at our recent OnStage events that took place all across the globe. Over the 7 days of the hop we will show you all the projects we made using the brand new products in the 2018 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Catalogues. Today is the 1st day of the hop.

Whether you are starting with me - Lou Kitzelman from the Sunshine Coast, Australia - or have hopped over from the uber talented and member of the current Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team, Tanya Boser, strap yourself in - you are about to see so many new products you just have to have! Better get that wish list handy!

Before I show you my first lot of projects I just need to pinch myself. Have seen the talent of the line up. I broke into a minor sweat when I saw most of my Stampin' Idols in the line up? Major fan girl moment! So time to wipe my brow, put my big girl pants on and dive right in!

My favourite projects were these embroidery hoop wall decorations. So simple - a bit like me! They add a great touch to your home decor and are embarrassingly easy.

I actually shared them last week before I knew about this hop but wanted to add them in because I love them! Thought I would lead with my favourites! Hoop wall art is right on trend at the moment and who knew it would be so easy to do! The stamp set is called Petal Palette. I have heaps of other projects to show you over the next few days that I have made using it.

After a lot of experimentation, I found the best combination was rubber backed curtaining and Basic Black Archival ink. I coloured with watercolour pencils and  used an Aqua Painter to blend. Of course you could add way more detail but I liked the white space - I felt it helped highlight the stamped images.

Can you see the cute little leaves? They are called Petal Passion Embellishments and add a great touch to projects like this.

To top off each embroidery hoop I have added some Calypso Coral Ombre ribbon to match the watercolouring and some black and silver mini sequin trim for no other reason than I am addicted to using them - oh and I think they look great too!

Once the stamped and watercoloured images were dry, I simply placed in a 4" embroidery hoop, tightened and trimmed away excess fabric.

Make sure you hop around to each blog. Be prepared to be amazed! Next up is the incredibly talented member of the current Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team, Mindy Backes.
