Colour INKspiration Challenge #16 Blog Hop

Time for another Colour INKspiration challenge. Whether you have hopped over from Jacque or are starting with me, you are in for a real treat.  The crew have some great projects to show you. As winter (in Australia) has a last ditched attempt to freeze us we have some very fitting colours for you.
I thought these colours would be great for a Christmas card and I needed no excuse to get out the new Christmas Quilt bundle that will be released on September 1. Who am I kidding - it has been sitting on my desk waiting to be put away! We have been struck down in our household this week by one of the nasty viruses going around so this was definitely a last minute card. As I made this card all I really wanted to do was crawl into the bed in the inspiration picture! So this is what I came up with.

The background is created using the stitched star stamp. You can make lots of different patterns just by positioning the stamp in different ways.

The sentiment is from Holly Berry Happiness. It was just the right size!

The patchwork Christmas tree is so lovely. I stamped off the Dapper Denim ink once for the solid triangles to give a bit of colour variation. You might be wondering how I got my Silver Metallic Thread to look like that. In my pathetic, germy state I got the spool stuck in the drawer, reefed it out breaking the end off, leaving it all to unravel and tangle in front of me. I really wanted to put it in the bin and forget it ever happened but I didn't want it to die in vain! So I rolled it round, snipped off the knotty, tangled bits and stuck it on.

INKspired to join the challenge? It's so easy. Firstly, get some INKspiration by hopping around to see what all of the Colour INKspiration Crew have to show you. Then you have 12 days from today to make and upload your creation to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group. You don't have to have a blog to participate but if you do you can link back to your post. Make sure you use all of the challenge colours. Not a member of the Facebook group yet? Just click here and ask to join Colour INKspiration, add the group to your favourites and share it with your crafty friends so they can join in the fun too. We can't wait to see what you create with these gorgeous colours.

Next up we have Elizabeth. Make sure you check out her take on this colour combination. You will love it!
