What Will You Stamp? - #126 - Label Me Pretty

Welcome to this week's challenge at What Will You Stamp? Each week we feature a different stamp set and start off the challenge by sharing our ideas for using it and then it is over to you. So check out all of the Design Team projects and if you are up for the challenge you can add your projects too. You might even be chosen as our next Guest Designer!

This week we are showcasing Label Me Pretty.

This is such a great, versatile set and coordinates with the Pretty Label punch. But did you know that you can also use it with the scallop from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits? I was pretty excited when I realised that one end of the flower and butterfly image would fit in each scallop to form a border.

My scalloped border is on vellum and embossed in white.

The Decorative Ribbon Edge punch has the same scallop as my front mat so I added it the the side for a bit of extra detail. Some coordinating solid baker's twine in Pool Party helped to tie it all together. Pun intended!

I embossed this sentiment with white embossing powder and then used Stampin' Write Markers to colour the image in on the back. This gives a soft delicate effect. So that the colours would stand out I have used some of the new Multipurpose Adhesive sheets to adhere a Whisper White oval behind it. I added this sweet scalloped border for a nice frame.

To give my scalloped border some definition I have matted in with Whisper White and used an overhang as a border. The card front had has a few centimetres cut off the front so that the card base (Pool Party) can show through and help show off the scallop border.

While you have the embossing powder out make sure you do an envelope as well.

I have used the bottom edge of the stamp to add this sweet detail to the card inside.

I wasn't sure if the white embossing on vellum would turn out how I envisioned it so I hedged my bets and embossed one in Crumb Cake while I was at it. I love this one too.

Are you a fan of Tranquil Tide. I am! I love using it with Crumb Cake.

My scallop border pattern was more distinct on the Crumb Cake so I didn't add a second border on this card.

I have used the same colours on each card. Amazing how different they look!

Make sure you check out all of the other projects from the other Design Team members and enter your project. We'd love to see what you create.

  2. I was just making cards yesterday with Label Me Pretty and wanted to put a decorative edge on it....now I know how!!! TFS! Question, did you find the HB stamp didn't stamp evenly? I made about 12 cards and found time and time again that the images below the HB didn't stamp as crisp as the top images.

    1. Hi Linda. My HB stamp gives a really clear image but it does have a fine line so I did make sure that my ink pad was not too juicy. Versamark and embossing powder gives a lovely effect. If it is an issue with the stamp maybe ring DS. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  3. Oh wow, you never cease to amaze! I love everything about them from the layout to the colour palette and the piece de resistance (say that in your head in french) is how tricky you were to discover how beautifully it fits in the scallops..... swoon.
