Well ...... I think the title says it all! This is one of those cards that started off in one direction and somehow ended up being a Hawaiian shirt with a very wide flamingo tie. How did it come to that??? All I can tell you is I chuckle every time I look at it. It is completely out of proportion and ugly/cute but I kinda like it.
..... and the other was to welcome in the new 2017/18 Annual Stampin' Up! catalogue. This stamp set is called Fabulous Flamingo and has some great sentiments in a fabulous font to go with the images. I promise I will make a nice flamingo card for you when I get time. In the meantime you have to put up with this hilarious Hawaiian shirt version.
I stamped the flamingo and then cut a the tie shape. This is such a great image. There are 4 stamps that make up the flamingo to give you shading.
The collar looks like my head in photos - huge! In real life it is more proportionate but a girl can only do so much!
Before I had to stop working I was an Early Childhood Teacher. This fold was one of my go-to folds for Father's Day. It is so easy. The card base is a standard size but I cut the A4 in half lengthways. From the fold end, I used my Stampin' Trimmer to cut down 3 cm and in 3 cm from each side. Before I folded this section to form the collar, I lightly sponged Old Olive over my Shimmery White cardstock, masking off the top section. I also stamped the palm leaves. Such a cool image. You fold the top sections down to form the collar and secure the tie underneath. I used glue dots to hold the collar down.
