CASEing The Catty #100 Presents & Pinecones

http://caseingthecatty.blogspot.com.au/

I have been an avid CASEing the Catty Sunday blog hop follower for a long time. A few weeks ago I entered their monthly challenge and was lucky enough to be chosen as the monthly winner. My special prize is to participate in this blog hop as a guest designer. Thanks for having me girls.

This week we are CASEing (Copy And Share Everything) the Present & Pinecones section of the Stampin' Up! 2016 Holiday catalogue.

So I CASEd 2 cards from this picture which is on page 18. Not a pinecone or present in sight you must be thinking! Well I was suffering Christmas overload so instead of using the products on this page I took inspiration from the card layouts. Can you pick which ones?

I really like this layout and can see me using it with other suites of products as well. I have layered my elements in the same way as they have in the catalogue.

Instead of the pine branches in the catalogue picture I have used splotches from Gorgeous Grunge and Timeless Textures to give a similar effect. I have stamped my kraft cardstock with Versamark. I like the subtle effect it gives.

For my second card I have used the same Moroccan Designer Series Paper. I really liked the tag on the bag and used that as inspiration for my card layout. The Sunshine Saying bundle is great for tailoring sentiments for your specific need.

The doily and label are raised on dimensionals to help give the die cuts some space to splay up. After cutting the large flourish from the Flourish Thinlits I cut it in half so that I could have some poking out from both the top and bottom. I have only adhered them down under the doily so that they can be free to curl up slightly.

Why don't you have a try at CASEing in one of the themes this month and entering? Make sure you check out all of the projects in the hop. Next you're off to see what Julia Quinn has made for you. (Coincidentally we live in the same town!) Thanks for having me.
