ESAD 2016 Annual Catalogue Blog Hop

Thanks for joining us an another ESAD blog hop. Welcome - whether you are starting with me or have hopped over to me after seeing Cathy's great projects. Make sure you follow the links so you see all 17 blogs in this hop. This blog hop is a chance for us to show you some of the amazing products in the 2016 - 2017 Stampin' Up! catalogue that was released on June 1st.

Have you ever tried one of the many kits Stampin' Up! has to offer? I must admit that I am only a recent convert. Whilst I always thought they looked great, I did think that they were perfect for beginners so ruled myself out. Bad move! Now I know what I have been missing out on. The kits are perfect for beginners and more advanced stampers alike and let you use as much or as little creative license as you like.

Today I wanted to show you the Oh Happy Day card kit. Now it comes with everything you need except your adhesive of choice and scissors. It even has a stamp block and ink pad and is packed in a cute box that you can reuse. You get the materials to make 20 cards with envelopes. That's $3.05 per card plus there are left over embellishments to use with the stamp set and ink pad. It's like the kit that keeps on giving. So this is what it looks like when you unpack the box.

Assembling the cards is really easy. I found that I laid them out and sorted out the embellishments and die cuts first. The instructions with diagrams and pictures make this really easy or you can watch the video from Stampin' Up! here if you prefer. Then you just stamp away and create your cards - either all at once or just as you need them. Follow the design exactly or add your own flair - it's completely up to you. I must say I found it really relaxing creating away. Page 6 of the catalogue has more detailed photos of what you can make. Here are the 20 cards all packed into the cute box. Don't forget to stamp on your envelopes as well.

Now there is so much you can do with the left over embellishments and the stamp set. The stamp set is full of sentiments that can be used for so many different occasions. You can use the ideas from the kit and create similar cards with different cardstock and Designer Series Paper as I have done here. The card on the left is from the kit and I have used elements of the design to make the card on the right. I used some paper from the Pop of Pink DSP and layered the elements using Stampin' Dimensionals (which were left over after making up the kit cards).

You can combine them with other stamps to create unique projects. As I have done here using Painter's Palette.

Using the Layering Squares Framelits I have cut the middle of the easel out so you can see the sentiment on the inside. I've embellished each one a little differently - just playing with my new toys!

You can also use the matchbook card fold idea from the kit to create more cards. I snuck this idea in as our blog hop was postponed from last week and I was just dying to use my Birthday Fiesta bundle which arrived during the week - there is something about a llama that just makes me giggle. Sorry for the large amount of photos. So this is what I came up with.

The card on the right is the one from the kit that I took my inspiration from. I just love the dies that coordinate with the Birthday Fiesta Stamp and Festive Birthday DSP. I plan on showing you lots more with the set over the coming weeks.

Oh he's so cute!

This is such a neat fold - using the frame to catch the bottom flap to hold it shut.

Aren't these streamers so gorgeous?

This fantastic card kit is available to be purchased now so make sure you consider it and the other kits Stampin' Up! has to offer. Don't flip past it (as I was guilty of doing).

Now scoot on over to Andrea's blog to see what fantastic projects she has created for you.
