Today I was supposed to work on the 3rd card for my upcoming card class on Monday. I knew that the card will be made using the Number of Years bundle, Birthday Bouquet DSP and coordinating inks and cardstock. I also knew that I was going to make something that was a bit skewwhiff. It's a design idea I have been seeing a lot lately and I really like it. When inspiration failed to whack me around the head I had a bit of a look around the internet and remembered the challenge over at Just Add Ink this week - JAI# 302. It is to use this great colour combination.
With the materials already out, the design came really quickly - well it had too as I had already wasted a lot of time! I did need a 50th Wedding Anniversary card so I was able to pat myself on the back for at least doing something on my 'to do' list!
I love the Number of Years stamp set that coordinates with the Large Numbers framelits dies. They come as a great bundle and they would be the perfect item to buy to be able to choose something for free from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. Just add a packet of Stampin' Dimensionals and you'll qualify. Get in before the end of March.
I love that you can use this set for different occasions and styles. The framelits really make it I think. For this card I have added centres to the flowers using the clear Wink of Stella pen. Do you have one yet? I am not a very glittery person so this brush (and the gold one) really suit me. They are elegant and add a subtle but still noticeable shimmer. The little flowers are stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink. I stamped a second flower before reinking to get a lighter colour.
I decided to leave a clean centre under the numerals. A 2" circle punched from sticky note acts as a mask. I just rotated around the circle. I saw this idea for the mask under the numerals on Pinterest and now can't find it to give credit. Thank you and sorry!
Now I should try to use this design for the card for my class. I'll show you it in my next post.

This is a lovely anniversary card Lou and a great class card! Great idea to mask out the centre so it makes your numbers nice and clear. Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink this week.
