Social Stamping - Thinking of You - Prized Peony

Welcome and thanks for joining me for another Social Stamping blog hop, hosted by the fabulous Kelly Kent. If you get lost along the hop you can always return to Kelly's master list here

Our theme for this hop is 'Thinking of You'. Of all of the reasons to send cards, I find this the most important for me. Sometimes when someone is going through a hard time, for whatever reason, they may not want to talk or you may not know exactly what to say. So sending a card to show you are thinking of them can mean so much more than those words we say when we really just don't know what to say. It's a bit hard to explain but I hope that you understand what I am getting at. I have 2 very dear friends (who are on this hop) who always manage to send me a card at just the right time.  I often end up walking up the driveway after checking the letterbox thinking 'Man I just needed that, how did they know!

So send a card to someone to show you are thinking of them! The Peony Garden Suite is just perfect for this occasion. It only just arrived in the nick of time to make something for this hop too.

I've made a card with a flap - the perfect way to show off the stunning scalloped edge die! Oh and the rest of the products in the suite too!

I love that you can order the whole suite with one code. There are so many gorgeous products in the suite, most of which you can see in my card. I've used the Prized Peony stamp set, Peony Dies, Peony Garden Designer Series Paper (I've used one of the Petal Pink pieces), Dainty Diamonds 3D embossing folder (LOVE!), Square Vellum Doilies and some Elegant Faceted Gems. So much to love it one suite! As you can see I've basically chucked the whole lot at this card and it still remained fairly elegant.

As usual I had plans to make more but decided to just stick to the stamped images for this hop. You'll just have to pop back for more ideas later! I did want to use this large bloom from the stamp set and of course needed to use my new Just Jade and Magenta Madness Stampin' Blends.

Magenta Madness is a bit of madness so I tried to break it up with some Just Jade In Color ribbon behind my loud and proud bloom. And I am just in love with the Dainty Diamonds 3D embossing folder! So ..... dainty!

To make this card you will need:
Card Base - 10.5 cm x 14.8 cm
- Flap - 11.5 cm x 12 cm - scored at 1 cm along the shorter side
- Inside card mat - 10 cm x 14. 3 cm
- Whisper White message panel - 10.5 cm x 9.5 cm

I hope that this as spurred you on to make a card for someone to show you are thinking of them. You are sure to get loads of inspiration throughout the hop. Next up you are off to see what creative delights Michelle Strazds has to show us.

  5. I was scrolling down, thinking how soft and pretty your peony card was, with all that lovely sft pink and crisp white, and so many gorgeous details. Then bamn! Next photo is a bright pinky peony packing one heck of a punch!! Amazing. Two totally different cards in tone and feel. Love them both (but a particular fondness for your loud and proud magenta bloom).

  6. Wow, such beautiful cards. I am sure both cards will be such blessings to the people they are given to. The fold certainly shows the scalloped edge beautifully. Thanks for sharing the size of the card pieces - it will make it easier to give this fold a go. I love the subtle elegance of the first card, but the bright life in the 2nd card is no less gorgeous. xxx
