Stamp Review Crew - Sea of Textures

Welcome back to another Stamp Review Crew blog hopThe Stamp Review Crew is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world that get together on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month for a blog hop. Each hop we showcase one stamp set and show you just how much you can do with it. Get ready for lots of inspiration and lots of reasons to use (or buy😊) this stamp set! Currently you are visiting Lou Kitzelman on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Hi!

For this hop we are featuring Sea Of Textures.

This is not a set that I own - can't have them all can we? I am lucky to have made some wonderful friends through Stampin' Up! who are so very generous. Fellow SRCer and stamping bestie, Kelly Kent sent me a (not so) little package of stamped and die cut elements from this set. Full credit to Kel for the wonderful stamping - I just applied my crazy brain to them and came up with these Octo-cus or Cact-opus pots! Let me know which name you like best!

For some reason I always thought the octopus looked like a succulent/cactus type plant upside down! So that's what I did! Planted each octopus and whacked some flowers on it!

These absolutely crack me up! Kelly sent me several of the sentiments and stamped patterns as well. The patterns made great backgrounds for the sentiments.

Each flower is made using the tiny tulip shape on the Vase Builder punch. I squeezed the bottom of each flower and adhered to the cactopi with glue dots.

I hand drew the pots with a Crumb Cake Stampin' Write marker then added some shading using the marker and an aqua painter. The rim of each pot got a coat of fine tip glue pen to give it a glazed look. To add dimension to each pot, I added a stack of 2 Stampin' Dimensionals to the middle and adhered the sides down with tape.

The Darling Label punch was perfect for this sign. I cut a strip the width of the punch (3 cm) and fed each end through to get the extended shape.

I wanted to keep this crack pot design from going over the top so I embossed the front of each card with the Subtle embossing folder. I love that it adds texture without having to add layers.

I think this sentiment says it all!

So whether they are Octo-cus or Cact-opus they are a bit of fun that I hope you enjoyed!

Make sure you hop around to see what all the crew have done with this gorgeous stamp set. Next up is the very clever and creative Heidi Baks. Can't wait to see what she has to show us!
