National Craft Month Blog Hop with Janet Wakeland

Hi Everyone! Welcome to the National Craft Month blog hop hosted by the fabulous Janet Wakeland. I am Lou Kitzelman and I live on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Now I am pretty sure that we don't have a national craft month here in Australia but I am happy to adopt it - any chance to celebrate crafting right?

Today I have 2 fun cards to show you using the fabulous  Brusho Crystal Colours. There is nothing I love more than losing myself in a bit of colour splooshing! I love just playing around and seeing what comes from it.

My first card features the Beautiful Day stamp set. I heat embossed the flower in white, wet the flower petals with my aqua painter and sprinkled some yellow and gamboge Brusho crystals and let them mingle and mix. I gave a bit of a helping hand in a few areas.

For the leaf I mixed some yellow and a tiny bit of prussian blue on a clear stamping block and painted it in with an aqua painter.

Add in a bit of skewhiff layering and some baker's twine - job done!

My second card has a bit of a collage background. This background was left over from these 21st and 18th birthday cards. I arranged some of the smaller stamps from the Tabs for Everything stamp set, heat embossed in white, spritzed and sprinkled some yellow Brusho on. I used my aqua painter to spread it is around a bit.

A tiny bit of gamboge was added to help highlight the words and images.

A silver embossed cake on a gorgeous Champagne foil cake stand was all the background needed. I love these collagey backgrounds. They add a bit of interest and texture without being obnoxious and in your face.

Make sure you celebrate National Craft Month by hopping around to see all of the fabulous creations. Next up is fellow Aussie, the incredibly talented and sweet, Cheryll Miller.

Lou
