Stamp Review Crew - Painted Harvest

Welcome back to another Stamp Review Crew blog hop. The Stamp Review Crew is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world that get together on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month for a blog hop. Each hop we will showcase one stamp set and show you just how much you can do with it.

For this hop we are featuring Painted Harvest. It also coordinates with the Leaf punch.
I must admit I took a while to buy this set. I just didn't love it as much as some others on my wish list. It wasn't until I read a post by my friend and fellow SRC member Kelly Kent where she mentioned that she always buys a 'peer pick'. So I followed the advice from the wise one, bought it and got on board. How did I live without it for so long! It wasn't until I started playing with it that I realised that it was so much more than just for Thanksgiving. You can see how I have used it on some other cards here.

Today I have gone a bit 'out there' to show just how versatile this stamp set is.

My eldest niece is chicken mad and has a birthday coming up. Poor Auntie Lou is running out of chicken card designs so I thought I would have a go at using Painted Harvest to make it. The fussy cut images were perfect. I have used a half flower for the comb and wing ......

....... some tail leaves feathers ......

...... and finished it off with some adorable gangly chicken legs and claws made from jute twine.

It stands up and has some room inside for a message.

So I think Auntie Lou will have another hit on her hands this birthday! What do you think? Every time I look at her she makes me smile! I love to have a bit of fun with kid's cards.

To make the chicken I used a template that I had from when I used to teach preschool. I always keep templates - you never know when they will come in handy.

Make sure you hop around to see all the fab ideas from the crew. Next up is Natalie. Can't wait to see her creative take on this stamp set! If you get lost you can head to the Stamp Review Crew blog to see the full line up.

  3. Is there a list for the blog hop? The next page isn't found. I started with Kelly, but she doesn't have a previous blog button so can't go the other way. Really want to see more. Thanks
